Pleasant preoccupation

I’m back with weeknotes again after a long break. I get so much value from the process of reflecting and taking stock at the end of the week, but making it stick seems to be impossible. So this may be a one-off, but I’m going to try really hard for it not to be.

This week I:

  • Worked through lots of discovery activities for a new project, including desk research, 7 stakeholder interviews, and getting a diary study started for the team
  • Ran a workshop with a client to help them create a list of the services that they offer their stakeholder. I also refined the prioritisation framework we’ve been developing. Both of these tasks are part of a wider service level agreement that’s now almost complete.
  • Planned for some user testing with a client. We’ve been working through some challenges and restrictions and had to get creative with our approach
  • Hosted a session for CharityComms on storytelling for charities
  • Finished making updates to my content audit toolkit, which I will be relaunching shortly
  • Worked on materials for an accessibility basics training session for a client

It’s been a full and satisfying week. Everything I’m working on is interesting and challenging. I’ve found it hard to switch off because I’m so (pleasantly) preoccupied with some of the challenges and questions that are coming up. I’ve also felt pretty confident in my ability to tackle them. (This probably means I’m about to be humbled, in my experience 😬)
