It’s been another slow, steady, tranquil week at work, and I’m so grateful for it. Here’s my what I’ve been up to:
- I spoke about translating content impact into the language of business at Copy Con today. The attendees asked so many good questions – we could have done with another 10-15 minutes to cover them all off.
- I had a kick-off meeting for a new project, which meandered into a conversation about zines and morris dancing (I love hearing about what my clients are into outside work, creative side projects, etc).
- I also did the desk research and background reading for this new project. I had some success using Claude to help with this. I asked it to prep an inventory of the content pages I’m going to be reworking, which helped me to read them with more of a considered perspective, and also meant that I understood them and how they factor into the brief properly on the first read (it would usually take 2/3 reads)
- I prepared agendas and materials for 4 x upcoming workshops and meetings, the first of which is coming up on Monday.
- As a little side project, I built a site on Micro Blog. It’s called Spite Village, and it’s a follow up to the Spite House zine I published last year. The idea is to curate ideas, opinions, links and conservation for people who are questioning the inevitability of AI, and don’t want to lose the free web. Using Micro Blog has been fun – I love the indie back to basics vibes – and I’m enjoying learning more about the fediverse.
